The gardener mixed up the petunias he bought at the plant shop. None of them are blooming, but he knows he bought 10 purple, 9 red, and 11 white,. if he just selects one at random, what is the probability that it is red?

    Since there are 30 petunias, the chance of getting the red ones can be calculated like this 9/30 (the chance of getting 9 red petunias out of 30). this gives 0.3 Then you multiply it by 100. it gives 30%. here is the solution formally.

    9/30 = 0.3

    0.3*100 = 30%
