Lea made two candles in the shape of right rectangular prisms. The first candle is 15 cm high, 8 cm long, and 8 cm wide. The second candle is 5 cm taller but has the same length and width. How much additional wax was needed to make the taller candle?

    256 cm more, because 8•8 or length • width = 64•4 or how much more layers cm you need to add on is 256 to make it 5 cm taller in height.

    Volume of the first - (15) (8) (8) = 960cm cubed

    Volume of the second - (20) (8) (8) = 1280

    Difference=320

    320 cm cubed were needed to make the taller candle
