We can represent the first number as x and x + 1 for the next number. And when adding both of them together you get 193.
x + x + 1 = 193
Add the x's together
2x + 1 = 193
Subtract both sides by 1
2x = 192
Divide both sides by 2
x = 96
And for x + 1
x + 1 = 97
So, when taking the sum of 96 and 97 you get 193.
