The numerator of a given fraction is 4 less than its denominator. If 3 is subtracted from the numerator and5 is added to the denominator, fraction becomes ¼. What is the given fraction.

    The original fraction would be 7/11.

    If you take the number 7 and subtract 3, you will have 4.

    If you take the number 11 and add 5, you will have 16.

    4 over 16 is the same as 1/4.
