Y=mx+b is the equation for any straight line

M is the slope of the line

    B is the y intercept

The y intercept of a line is the value of y where it crosses the y axis on a graph

    EX: y=2x+1

2 is the slope & 1 is the y intercept (where it crosses the y axis on the graph)
