So lets get started with your equation.
• 1.5x - 6.5
Now it says; x=9
So now what we have to do is replace x for the given value of 9.
• 1.5x - 6.5
• 1.5 * 9 - 6.5
We took "x" and we replaced it by using multiplication.
Another example for that is if we have x=2
4x
Then we would do 4 * 2
2 being our orginal unknown numner of "x".
Makes sense?
Now our last step is to simply solve;
• 1.5 * 9 - 6.5
=7 (positive)
