Let the number of $1.5 and $2.5 be x. The number of $4 was (x+0.5x) = 1.5x and that of $3 was (x+0.5x+1) = (1.5x+1)

thus the total amount will be:

1.5x+2.5x+4 (1.5x) + 3 (1.5x+1) = 78

1.5x+2.5x+6x+4.5x+3=78

14.5x=78-3

14.5x=75

The number of:

$1.5 was 5

$2.5 was 5

$3 was 1.5*5+1=7.5=8.5

$4 was 1.5*5=4.5
