Describe a real world situation that can be represented by the product 8 (-20). Then find the product and explain what the product means in terms of the real world situations.

    8 x - 20 = - 160

    For example, a factory manufactures 300 computers in a day and they are stacked and organized into clusters to aggregate them according to specifications, and etc.

    During the process the factory has an area segregated into 8 rows for the computers that had damages or were found defective during the production and that for every row consisted of 20 computers. How many defective computers were there?

    This is where they compute, so 8 rows x 20 defective computers

    8 x 20 = 160 (Negative sign may not be indicated but this is where the 300 computers will be deducted.)

    So, the 300 computers produced had 160 defective in them

    300 ( - 160)

    300 - 160 = 140

    140 computers were produced successfully.

    Take note that the sign may not be direct in real life that's why Algebra can be a useful math utility in these problems.
