    An equilateral triangle have the same length on all sides.

    Let x = the length on one side of the equilateral triangle

    Then 3x = the perimeter around the equilateral triangle

    3x = 24

    Divide both sides by 3.

    3x / 3 = 24 / 3

    x = 8

    So, the length of one of the sides is 8 units long.

    8 because an equilateral triangle has 3 equal sides. So if each side is 8, then added together the perimeter is 24.
