Assuming this is what you mean:
2x + 3y = 9
x - 2y = 1
-2 (x - 2y = 1)
-2x + 4y = - 2
2x + 3y = 9
7y = 7
y = 1
2x + 3 (1) = 9
2x + 3 = 9
2x = 6
x = 3
