The formula for the area of a triangle is A=1/2*h*b

    Therefore:

    (1/2) * 4*5.5=11

The area of the sail is 11 feet squared

    Area of a triangle: (1/2) bh, where b = base and h = height

    (1/2) x 4 x (11/2)

    = (4/2) x (11/2)

    = 2 x (11/2)

    = 11
