There are 2 cell phone plans available from Cell phones R us company. Plan A charges 35$ a month plus $0.05 for every text message. Plan B charges $50 a month plus $0.01 for every text message. How many text messages do you need to send in order for plan A to be cheaper than plan B?

A.) 35 + 0.05m > 50 + 0.01m

B.) 35 + 0.05m > 50 + 0.01m

C.) 35 + 0.05m ≤ 50 + 0.01m

D.) 50 + 0.05m > 35 + 0.01m

    Okay. I think you mean how many text messages must you send, until plan B is cheaper than plan A. Plan A is the one with the $30 fixed amount and plan B is the one with the $50 dollar fixed amount. The key words "cheaper than" means that our sign will be less than, not less than or equal to. Therefore, C is out. We are looking for plan B ($50 fixed amount) to be less than. B and D are out, because those are greater than symbols toward plan B. A is the only one that shows the proper answer, and when you solve it right, you get m > 375. You would have to send 376 messages in order for plan B to be cheaper. The answer is A.
