    C = a + 9

    L = 2a + 9

    a = 17

    c = a + 9

    c = 17 + 9

    c = 26 inches < = = Carol's fish

    L = 2a + 9

    L = 2 (17) + 9

    L = 34 + 9

    L = 43 inches < = = Liz's fish

    Ann = 17

    Carol = 17+9

    Liz = (17x2) + 9

    Ann - 17 in.

    Carol-26 in.

    Liz - 34 + 9 = 43 in.
