Alaska is the largest state in the United States. The state has an area of approximately 663,000 square miles. Rhode Island is the smallest state in the United States, with an area of approximately 1,000 square miles. Currently, the populations of Alaska and Rhode Island are 732,000 people and 1 million people, respectively. If Alaska had the same number of people per square mile as Rhode Island, what would its population be? In two or more sentences, explain your calculations and conclusions.
