Add 7 to each side to isolate the variable.
5q = 7 2/3
Convert 7 2/3 into an improper fraction.
7 = 21/3
7 2/3 = 23/3
5q = 23/3
Divide by 5 to find the value of q.
q = 23/15 or 1 8/15
