How does a digit in the ten thousandths place compare to a digit in the thousands place

    The number in the ten thousand place must be multiplied by 10 compared to the number in the thousandth place.

    So in 22000 2 is multiplied by 10000 = 20000 and 2 is multiplied by 1000 = 2000.
