The length of a rectangle is 5cm longer than twice the length of the width. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 88, what Is the width?

    length=2x+5

    perimeter of a rectangle=2 (length) + 2 (width)

    We can suggest this equation:

    88=2 (2x+5) + 2x

    88=4x+10+2x

    6x=88-10

    6x=78

    x=78/6

    x=13

    width=x=13

    length=2x+5=2 (13) + 5=26+5=31
