Does - |-4| = | - (-4) ?

    The first is an absolute value sign. But there is a - outside the first one so the - 4 does become positive but then becomes negative again so you have - 4

    The second value is basically saying the same thing as - 1x-4 which become a negative times a negative which is positive. You end up with 4.

    So no it does not equal each other.

    I do see an extra absolute value symbol though on the right side of the equal sign. But it looks like either way it would be - 4 = 4 and that's not true. So either way it should be false.
