    Let the width be x and the length = 1.7x

    Area = length x width = x * 1.7x = 1.7x^2 = 2,720

    x^2 = 2,720 / 1.7 = 1,600

    x = sqrt (1,600) = 40

    1.7x = 1.7 x 40 = 68

    Therefore, the dimensions are 40 inches by 68 inches
