Does "more than" mean adding or subtracting?

    It means greater than. For example: Thomas baked 50 cupcakes in 1 hour and Ezra baked 25 cupcakes in 1 hour. How many more cupcakes did Thomas bake than Ezra. The answer would be 25 cupcakes. In this example you are subtracting but " more than" is greater than so I think it's subtracting.
