    F + a = 26

    f = 7a

    7a + a = 26

    8a = 26

    a = 26/8

    a = 3.25

    f = 7a

    f = 7 (3.25)

    f = 22.75 < = = Fred's frog jumped 22.75 inches or 22 3/4 inches
