    2.5x + 1.5y = 9.50

    x = y - 1

    2.5 (y - 1) + 1.5y = 9.50

    2.5y - 2.5 + 1.5y = 9.50

    2.5y + 1.5y = 9.50 + 2.50

    4y = 12

    y = 12/4

    y = 3 < = = blueberries cost $ 3 per lb

    x = y - 1

    x = 3 - 1

    x = 2 < = = strawberries cost $ 2 per lb

    2.5 (x-1) plus 1.5x is equal to $1.75 per pound
