A basketball is dropped from an original height of 9 feet and on each bounce, bounces up 2/3 the distance it fell.

How far will it have traveled by the time it hits the ground the 4th time?

    0
    1st - 2/3 x 9 = 6

    2nd - 2/3 x 6 = 2

    3rd - 2/3 x 2 = 2/3 x 6/3 = 12/9 = 4/3

    4th - 2/3 x 4/3 = 8/9 ft
