The school cafeteria offers the following lunch choices:

•main course A or B

•salad or vegetable

•milk, juice, or water

•gelatin, pudding, or cake

a. Use the counting principle to find the number of different lunches that are possible.

b. Find the probability of choosing a unique lunch combination.

c. When you arrive for lunch, there are no main course B lunches left. If you randomly select your side dish, drink, and dessert, what is the probability that you will choose main course A, with a salad, milk, and cake?

    b. the probability of choosing a unique lunch combination is 1/36

    c. New counting principle is 1 x 2 x 3 x 3 = 18 so your chances of chosing main course A, with a salad, mile and cake is 1/18
