What multiplies to - 126 but adds to 5?

    Factorization of - 126:

    -1 * 2 * 3 * 3 * 7

    No matter how we group these, because of the associative prop of multiplication, when we multiply them all together we will end up with - 126.

    Now we need to draw two groups of these numbers that add to 5.

    (-1 * 2 * 3) + (3 * 7) = (-6) + (21) = 15

    This is too much, our groupings need to be closer together in value.

    (-1 * 2 * 3 * 3) + (7) = (-18) + (7) = - 11

    Getting closer to 0 ... let's shift off that low-value 2.

    (-1 * 3 * 3) + (7 * 2) = (-9) + (14) = 5

    The answer is - 9 and 14.
