    Parallel lines have the same slope, so if you need a line parallel to this one, it'll share a slope of (7/4). for future reference, perpendicular lines have opposite reciprocal slopes. you change the sign, then flip the fraction. - 2 would become 1/2; as slopes, these would be perpendicular lines.
