Diane bought 48 ounces of nuts at the store. how much is this in pounds?

Ok so there are 16 ounces in one pound, so I am going to divide 48:16 to get my answer. So since I don't know from the top of my head the answer, I am going to multiply 16*2=32. So since we are close to the number, I am going to multiply 16*3 which equals 48. So Diane bought 3 pounds of nuts.

1oz = 0.0625lb

0.0625 * 48 = 3lb
