A 60.0 kg object is moving east at 8.00 m/s, and then slows down to 4.00 m/s. How much work was done?

    Work can be calculated using the formula:

    w = 0.5m (vf^2 - vi^2)

    where m is the mass of the object

    vf is the final velocity of the object

    vi is the initial velocity of the object

    w = 0.5 (60) [ (4^2) - (8^2) ]

    w = - 1440 J was the work done by the object
