You throw a stone vertically upward with an initial speed of 6.4 m/s from a third-story office window.

A) Find the speed of the stone just before it hits the ground.

Hint: the time is 2.3 s

    -12 = 6.2*t - 4.9*t² → t = 2.32 sec (quadratic formula)

    V = Vi - g*t = 6.2 - 9.8*2.32 = - 16.5 m/s
