Magnetic force is not the term to describe the field that I would use. There is a magnetic field surrounding the bar magnet that leaves the north pole of the magnet and enters into the south pole of the magnet. Two magnets near each other will apply a force to the other one but a magnet by itself does not have a force. Also, magnetic field lines end and begin on themselves, that is they form loops where as electric field lines begin and end on charges. This is because there are no such thing as magnetic charges.
