How would a food web be affected if a species disappeared from an ecosystem?

All the rest of the species that eat that species would die and if they where herboveoris grassy would over populate and die and also will the canovoris would die to because they wouldn't be enoug meat for all of thm and if it was a canavoire the hebavoirs would overpopulate.
