A 160 kilogram cannon fires a 30 kilogram cannonball with a speed of 45 m/s at an angle of 30 degrees with the horizontal. In what direction and at what speed does the cannon recoil?

    By newton's 3rd law, the recoil will be in the opposite direction and with the same mass speed : 160*V=30*45 where V is the speed of the cannon due to the recoil hence V=30*45/160~8.4 m/s
