    Power is the energy dissipated or used per time. It is the rate of doing work. It is expressed as P = W/t. Work can be calculated from the product of force and distance. We calculate as follows:

    P = Fd/t

    P = 500 (100) / 10

    P = 5000 J/s or 5000 W
