Adam and Bobby are twins who have the same weight. Adam drops to the ground from a tree at the same time that Bobby begins his descent down a frictionless slide. If they both start at the same height above the ground, how do their kinetic energies compare when they hit the ground? Bobby has twice the kinetic energy as Adam More information is required to compare their kinetic energies. Adam has greater kinetic energy than Bobby. They have the same kinetic energy. Bobby has greater kinetic energy than Adam.

    Explanation:

    Given that weight of Adam and Bobby is same. That is why mass will be same.

    Lets take mass = m

    The height is also same

    Lets take height = h

    The final kinetic energy = KE

    From energy conservation

    mgh = KE

    Therefore final kinetic energy will be "mgh".

    Here mass and the height is same so we can say that Adam and Bobby have same kinetic energy.

    The kinetic energy depends on mass and height only.
