    According to first law of thermodynamics:

    Q = ΔE + W

    Q is heat added, ΔE is increase in the internal energy of the system and W is work done by the system.

    Here Q = 36 KJ

    ΔE = 14 kJ

    Putting the values in the equation

    36 = 14 + W

    W = 36 - 14

    = 22 kJ.

    Work done by gas or system = 22 kJ.
