How can the subatomic parts of an atom be used identify it?

    based on the number of protons

    Explanation:

    The number of protons is the atomic number and the elements on the periodic table are arranged by the atomic number. However if you do not know the number of protons but you know the number of electrons they are the same. so basically protons = electrons which = atomic number
