A 5kg mass is pulled along a table at a constant velocity by a 10N force. Find the force required to produce an acceleration of 5m/s^2

    Explanation:

    in the first state the velocity is constant so ... F (net) = 0=F1-f (friction)

    F1=f (friction) = 10N

    in the second state ... F (net) = ma=F2-f (friction) = 5*5

    F2=25+10=35

    The friction force is the same in both states
