What's the difference between a 2.0 and a 3.0 earthquake on the Richter scale?

    A 3.0 quake releases ten times as much energy as a 2.0 quake does.

    A 2 is generally not felt by people and does not damage. A 3 is often felt by people and indoor objects shaking can be noticable.
