A total charge of 4.70 is distributed on two metal spheres. When the spheres are 10 cm apart, they each feel a repulsive force of 4.7 x 10^11 N. How much charge is on the sphere and which has the lower amount of charge?

    Answer: 4,58 C and 0.12 C

    Explanation: Considering the Coulomb force given by:

    F = (k*q1*q2) / d^2 = (9*10^9*q1*q2) / (0.1) ^2 (1)

    so replacing the given values and considering also that the total charge is 4.7C this q1+q2 = 4.7 C (2)

    From (1) and (2) we can find the charges in each sphere.
