    49 m/s.

    Explanation:

    Given:

    Time, t = 5 s

    Vo = 0 m/s

    a = 9.8 m/s2

    Using equations of motion,

    Vf = Vo + at

    Vf = 0 + 9.8 * 5

    = 49 m/s.

    it was moving at 50m/s when it hits the well bottom

    Explanation:

    Using Newton first law of motion;

    V=u+gt

    v=final velocity (what we are about to calculate)

    u=initial velocity which is 0

    g = acceleration due to gravity 10m/s^2 (since its expressing free fall it will be positive)

    t=time taken 5seconds

    v=0+10 (5)

    v=50m/s
