Two particles, one with charge - 7.97 * 10 - 6 C and the other with charge 2.71 * 10 - 6 C, are 0.0359 m apart. What is the magnitude of the force that one particle exerts on the other?

    Constant: k = 9.0*10⁹ Nm²/C²

    Substitute into equation 1

    F = (9.0*10⁹) (7.97*10⁻⁶) (2.71*10⁻⁶) / 0.0359²

    F = 194.3883*10⁻³/0.0012888

    F = 150828.91*10⁻³

    F = 150.83 N.

    Hence the magnitude of the force that one particle exert on the other = 150.83 N
