A raindrop, mysteriously, falling on the Moon, hits thesurface

at 57.4 m/s. The Moon's gravity is 1.6 m/s/s. Determine thetime

that the drop is falling.

    Explanation:

    Using one of newton's equation of motion

    g = V-u/t ... Equation 1

    Where V = final velocity, u = initial velocity, g = acceleration due to gravity of the moon, t = time.

    Note: for a dropping object, u = 0 m/s

    g = V/t ... Equation 2

    making t the subject of equation 2 above

    t = V/g ... Equation 3

    Given: V = 57.4 m/s, g = 1.6 m/s²

    Substituting these values into equation 3

    t = 57.4/1.6

    t = 35.875 s

    t = 35.875 s

    The time that the drop is falling = 35.875 s
