Comets are stellar objects that orbit the sun and are made mainly of ice. They usually have a tail due to the evaporization by the effect of the sun's light. Meteors are a part that separeted from a comet or an asteroid, and this are the ones that enters the earth, and when there are a lot of them entering, it is called meteor shower.

We can see meteor shower usually on plain sight due to that the velocity this objects have is so great that the resistence of the air in earth's atmosphere makes them evaporize partially or completly, and we see this as a bright light in the sky.
