An 1800-kg tractor exerts a force of 1.75*10^4N backward on the pavement, and the system experiences forces resisting motion that total 2400 N. If the acceleration is 0.150 m/s2, what is the mass of the airplane?

    mass of tractor, m = 1800 kg

    F = 1.75 x 10^4 N

    f = 2400 N

    a = 0.150 m/s^2

    Fnet = F - f = 1.75 x 10^4 - 2400 = 15100 N

    Fnet = mass of airplane x acceleration

    mas of airplane = 15100 / 0.15 = 1 x 10^5 kg
