Ball's velocity be in a year? Assume there are no nearby planets.

A boy is running north with a beanbag in his hands. He passes a tree, and at the moment

ne is beside the tree, he drops the beanbag. Will the beanbag land next to the tree

not, will it be north or south of the tree?

    Explanation:

    newton's third law explains for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. the action is dropping the beanbag but because he is moving forward and gravity is pulling it down, the momentum is transferred to the beanbag and its reaction is to move south. North would be if he threw it.
