According to KMT, if the temperature of a gas is increased, there will only be a constant pressure if the volume increases. If this occurs, there will be a decrease in the frequency of collisions with the container walls. What gas law is KMT explaining?

    Mathematically,

    V ∝ T (V varies directly with T)

    Where V is the volume and T is the temperature.

    We can then write that,

    V = kT and

    V/T = k

    This means that

    V1/T1 = V2/T2 = V3/T3 ...

    Hence,

    V1/T1 = V2/T2

    This is the Charles' law equation.
