energy when it is perched high up in a tree.

Calculate the bird's vertical height from the ground.

    Ep = mgh = 47.0 J

    m = 0.8 kg

    g = 9.81 m/s2 (average)

    h = Ep / mg = 47 J / 0.8 kg * 9.81 m/s2 = 5.989 m
