    Mass of water in the calorimeter, m = 1.28 kg = 1280 grams

    Heat capacity of the calorimeter, h = 10.53 kJ/°C. = 10.53 * 10³ J/°C

    specific heat capacity of the water, C = 4.18 J/g°C

    also,

    Total Heat capacity of the vessel = heat capacity of the calorimeter + heat capacity of the water

    on substituting the values, we get

    10.53 * 10³ J/°C = Heat capacity of the calorimeter + mC

    or

    Heat capacity of the calorimeter = (10.53 * 10³ J/°C) - (1280 * 4.18 J/g°C)

    or

    Heat capacity of the calorimeter = 5179.6 J/°C = 5.179 kJ/°C
