a father has brown hair (B), but the offspring have red hair (a recessive trait), like their mother (b). How is this possible?

    Explanation:

    The mother is red headed. So, a Bb brown haired father and a bb red headed mom gave their child bb (recessive) traits. When shown in a punnet square, bb is an option.
