Firstly, friction depends partly on the nature of surface in contact with the moving body. The rougher the surface, the morer the friction experienced. Secondly, it is affected by the magnitude of force holding the two bodies that should be in contact, this is to say that an increase in the amount of weight on a body results to a rise in friction experienced by the body on the surface.
